Dermal fillers in Ankeny, Iowa use natural ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid, to replace lost facial and lip volume and correct mild to moderate wrinkles. At Nova Innovated Health, we offer Juvéderm®, Ultra Plus XC®. Allergen’s Juvéderm® line is the #1 selling collection of hyaluronic acid fillers in the U.S.

The causes of diminishing facial volume:

Collagen is a protein in your body that plays a vital role in the firmness and elasticity of your skin. As we age, collagen production starts to decrease. As a result, you may see fine lines, wrinkles, loose and deflated skin and lips.

A prime example, the cheeks will start to flatten over time and the skin may look saggy. This is what we call age-related volume loss in the midface. Dermal fillers in Ankeny, Iowa are a great way to add volume to different areas of the face without surgery.

Different formulations of the HA filler are used based on the area being treated and desired results. Allergen’s Juvéderm® collection adds volume to a different area of the face to lift cheeks, smooth lines, or plump lips. The results are subtle and long-lasting.

Process & Results

Step 1.

During your consultation, our providers will thoroughly explain the benefit of dermal fillers in Ankeny and customize a treatment plan to encompass both your immediate and long term facial aesthetic goals.

Step 2.

Prepare the Skin for Injection

After your consultation, topical anesthetic may be offered to enhance your comfort during the injections. Then your injector will prepare your skin for injection by thoroughly cleaning the treatment areas with both alcohol and an anti-bacterial wash.

Step 3.

After the skin is prepared, the Practitioner will inject the your dermal filler into the predetermined areas.

Step 4.

Fillers normally last 6-18 months, depending on the individual. A long term treatment plan will allow us to optimize the life of your filler by re-injecting before the product has totally dissipated over time.

Injectable dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid-based gels that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth wrinkles, soften creases, and contour the face without the downtime of surgery.

With fillers, there is little to no downtime. There is a risk of post-procedure bruising, which is higher in places with a high density of arteries and sensitive tissue, such as the eyes.

Avoid omega-3 fatty acids, fish oil, aspirin, NSAIDs (including Advil, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Aleve), Vitamin E, Ginseng, Ginger, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Green Tea, Alcohol, and Salt for 14 days before your procedure. One month before and after filler treatment, avoid dental treatments, including normal tooth cleaning.

The answer is most likely yes. The lifting and tightening effect of a facelift is achieved. It does not, however, make up for the volume that has been lost. We lose volume in our faces as we get older, which should be replenished gradually during rejuvenation to produce the most harmonious effects.

Dermal fillers can last anywhere from six months to two years, depending on the location, type of filler, and your body’s resorption capabilities.

Temporary swelling, bruising, redness, or pain at the treatment site are frequent side effects of filler injections. We recommend administering ice packs or cold compresses to the injection sites for at least 15 minutes following therapy to reduce or minimize discomfort (with continuation every hour if you are prone to bruising).

While normal activity can be resumed right after the injections, strenuous exertion should be avoided for the rest of the day to avoid swelling and bruising. For one month after a tear trough filler treatment, avoid anything that increases pressure on the area (such as goggles, massages, or scuba diving). It is recommended that you sleep on your back for one week after your surgery. If at all possible, avoid sleeping on your side for at least two days.

Due to the numerous micro-vessels in the skin, bruising is prevalent and sometimes unavoidable, especially around the eyes. To disguise bruising, gently apply makeup (stick foundations and concealers work best). Using organic apple cider vinegar and a cotton tip applicator, injection point bruises can be improved. Arnica can be taken orally or applied to the bruise many times a day. Large or black bruises that are resistant to treatment can be cured with a vascular laser within 1-2 days. To make an appointment, please call our office.

If you have extreme pain in the injected locations, severe bruising that is getting worse, or sight difficulties, call the clinic right away.

The time it takes to determine your clinical response to treatment is usually 1-2 weeks. If this is your first treatment, a follow-up consultation in two weeks is recommended to guarantee your pleasure.
